Milton King Jr., husband, father, son, mentor and Founder/Executive Director of Determined To Be Mentoring & Leadership Program (D2B) a 501 (c)(3). A native of Birmingham (Woodlawn) and graduate of Frontier Christian High School.

Though, Milton has triumphed over many of life’s hurdles he never strayed far from his love of the people within the community from which he was raised and is still well known and respected. He carries painful memories from his teenage years of attending the funerals of at least seven close friends before the age of eighteen. These memories along with his personal experiences drew him closer to the Lord and his resolve to answer “yes” to the call of ministry upon his life. Although in his former years, he was met with many challenges, God is faithful. The Lord declares in Jeremy 29:11, “for I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
 

Milton’s life is a true testimony of how God, self-determination, and faith can change and redirect your life. From the trials of his past, God gave him a mandate on top of his passion, to help detour other young men from becoming prey to surrounding negative influences. In 2016, Determined 2 Be Mentor and Leadership Program (D2B) was birthed.
 

Milton along with over fifty mentors of D2B are all leaders in their own regard, were raised in various Birmingham communities, have similar backgrounds, and share similar stories of God’s redemption, restoration and self-determination. Milton and every mentor speak and lead from experience, example, and genuine love, and teach from American Character Builders, The Change Companies, and Boyce Watkins Business curriculums, which are all connected to the measurable success of D2B. Milton and the mentors of D2B are determined to help develop young men into successful, professional, and positive leaders of tomorrow in every area of their lives.
 

Milton has been married to Cassandra D. King for over twenty-five years, they have four children and are active members of Faith Chapel Christian Center, under the leadership of Pastor Michael Moore Sr. Milton obtained his Commercial Drivers License (CDL) from Bevill State Community College. Many might say the Milton of today is a far cry from the Milton of twenty years ago.
